NEW YORK, NY, June 20th, 2011 — Peter B. Weprin, formerly of HighTower Advisors, has joined Brock Securities, a subsidiary of Brock Securities Group LLC. The Brock Securities Markets team has arranged capital markets transactions in excess of $5 billion. These transactions included public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), private investments in public equity (PIPEs) and secondary offerings. The industry expertise of Brock Securities Markets includes the maritime, metals and mining, energy, real estate and financial sectors. Mr. Weprin will substantially enhance the capital raising and associated investment banking activities of the Brock Group.

Peter Weprin was previously with HighTower Advisors, a leading financial services company carrying out business development activities. Prior to Hightower, Mr. Weprin was a Managing Director at Cowen and Company’s Capital Markets Group, in charge of origination and execution of innovative capital raising solutions for middle-market and emerging growth public and private companies. Mr. Weprin also served as Senior Vice President at Sunrise Securities Corp. where he focused on the origination, structuring and execution of over $1 Billion in SPAC transactions for Sunrise clients and raised $200 Million in private offerings. In his previous position with British Telecom, Mr. Weprin was responsible for closing complex multi-jurisdictional transactions involving Global Fortune 500 Companies.

Mr. Weprin graduated with an M.S. in Telecommunications Management, from University College London as part of BT’s Executive Masters Program in 2005. Mr. Weprin received a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1998 and received a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992

Jay A. Rodin, who will lead the Brock Securities Markets group, has over 27 years experience in capital markets and investment banking. Before joining Brock he was a managing director at S. Goldman Capital; president of Idea Group Holdings, a boutique investment bank specializing in raising capital through conventional and alternative structures; a senior managing director of Sunrise Securities Corp; head of Nomura Securities’ global equity sales desk; and president of Carlyle Securities, a merchant banking boutique.

Eric G. Abitbol has over 12 years of experience in capital markets and investment banking. He has raised capital for international and domestic public and private companies using debt, equity and innovative equity- related financing instruments. Eric’s clients are hedge funds, mutual funds, private equity firms, family offices and foundations. He was formerly a managing director of Sunrise Securities Corp. and, earlier, worked for National Bank of Canada.

David B. Newman has 20 years of experience in real estate investment, capital markets, management and development. Prior to joining Brock he was the chief investment officer of Empire American Holdings LLC, one of the largest national multi-family property owners in the United States. Earlier he was part of the retail development group at The Related Companies; general counsel of Strategic Development Concepts, Inc., a Westchester based real estate company; and part of the corporate practice group at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel.
